CENTENNIAL – T90
Centennial is an aroma-type cultivar developed from the USDA hop breeding program at Washington State University in 1974 and released in 1990. Centennial is a well-blended aroma hop and is sometimes referred to as Super Cascade though its citrus aromas are lighter than those of Cascade.
Centennial has dominant citrus and floral notes with undertones of lemongrass, aniseed and pine needles.
Centennial is a dual-purpose hop with high alpha-acids and excellent aromatic capabilities. It is widely used as a finishing or dry hop and is excellent in all styles of American IPA’s, Pale Ales, Stouts and Porters. Centennial can also be a welcome addition in smaller amounts to American Style Wheat and Blonde Ales where a depth of bitterness is needed with forward aromas.
