El Dorado® is a dual-purpose hop with high alpha-acids variety grown in the Moxee Valley of Washington.This hop was developed by CLS Farms, LLC in 2008 and released in 2010. The area has a slightly cooler climate which provides the perfect conditions for an outstanding aroma hops to be cultivated.
As an aroma hop El Dorado® elicits tropical flavours and as a bittering hop, it lends a smooth and balanced bitterness.
El Dorado® exhibits bold tropical fruit flavours, said to be reminiscent of pineapple and mango, in addition to a resinous back note. On the nose, it imbues aromas of pear, watermelon, stone fruits and even candy.
El Dorado® has seen use in Wheat beers, Pale Ales and IPA’s.
