AINE IRISH RED ALE
Aine Irish Red Ale is a medium-bodied Beer known for its deep amber to reddish hue. The style emphasizes malty flavours, often with a gentle caramel sweetness and hints of roasted grains. Hops are used sparingly, offering just enough bitterness to balance the malt and create a clean, dry finish.
Whether you’re celebrating your Irish roots or simply exploring a new Beer style, Aine Irish Red Ale delivers a balance of flavour and drinkability that’s sure to please. Sláinte!
Additional Information:
Typically, Irish Red Ales have an alcohol content between 4% and 6% ABV, making them easy to drink while still flavourful. Introducing roasted barley to the grist is what separates the Irish Red Ale from your regular English Pale Ale.
Taste:
The hallmark of an Irish Red Ale is its malt-forward character. Expect flavours of toasted bread, caramel, and toffee, often accompanied by a slight nuttiness or light roasted note. The finish is smooth and dry, with just a touch of bitterness.
This balance of sweetness and dryness makes Irish Red Ales highly versatile and universally appealing.
Appearance:
Irish Red Ales are known for their striking colour, ranging from amber to a rich, ruby-red. They typically have good clarity and a creamy off-white head that lingers as you sip.
Origins:
Irish Red Ale traces its roots to Kilkenny, Ireland, where it emerged as a malt-focused alternative to Pale Ales and Stouts. While the style is less widely consumed in Ireland today, it remains a favourite among craft brewers worldwide, who have embraced its drinkable and versatile qualities.
Serving:
Serve Irish Red Ale slightly cool, between 7°C and 10°C to fully appreciate its malt complexity. Pour gently into a pint glass or mug to showcase its vibrant colour and creamy head.
PLEASE NOTE:
Special instructions:
The Roast Barley should only be sprinkled over the mash before sparging to achieve optimum colour but to not extract the bitterness/flavour of the roast barley.
All recipes are used at the Brewer's own risk.
The Aine Irish Red Ale Kit is not suitable for long-term storage and should be consumed within 2 to 3 weeks to enjoy the maximum flavour imparted by the hops.
