OXEBAR KEG - 8L
The Oxebar 8L Keg is a great valued re-usable plastic Keg, which makes it a convenient way to store Home-Brew in a smaller sized container than traditional 19L Corny Kegs.
The Oxebar 8L Keg is convenient in size, lightweight and perfect for sharing beverages with family and friends.
Dimensions
Diameter:155mm
Height: 520mm
Additional Information:
The Oxebar 8L Keg is lightweight and compact, featuring superior oxygen barrier properties with three times better (less) gas transmission than traditional PET plastics. This makes it perfect for storing Beer or other oxygen-sensitive carbonated and non-carbonated beverages.
The Oxebar 8L Keg is sold with the PCO38 Cap, however if you would like to dispense this product through a Draft System we recommend the use of the PCO38 Tapping Head (KL27144).
What is Oxebar Mono?
Oxebar Mono is a PET polymer blend that utilizes several polymers blended together to significantly improve gas barrier properties. When compared with standard PET plastic, Oxebar Mono is able to reduce oxygen ingress and CO² loss to allow the beverage to be preserved and shelf life extended by up to three times that of any other plastic Keg. KegLand recommends this product for beer stored in a keg for up to 6 months.
Periodic Hydrotesting Requirement:
All pressure vessels should be hydrotested periodically. This is a straightforward process and not something to be feared. We recommend that this container be pressure tested every 2 years up to 6 Bar.
Follow these instructions to hydrotest the Oxebar Keg:
1. Remove the RED PRV (Pressure Relief Valve) and fit a GREY PRV (you can borrow one from a 19L Keg).
2. Fill the Keg completely with water. DO NOT skip this step.
3. Use a bike pump, CO² regulator, air compressor, or any other pressure source to pressurize the Keg to 6 Bar.
4. Maintain the pressure at 6 Bar for 1 minute.
5. Release the pressure and immediately remove the GREY PRV, replacing it with the RED PRV.
The test should be conducted with the Keg and water at room temperature, between 15 - 30°C.
PLEASE NOTE:
DO NOT EXCEED 4 Bar / 58psi or 45°C
Periodic Hydrotesting should be conducted every 2 years up to 6 Bar
