The Portable Refractometer gives an instant reading at any point during the boil, or fun off from the mash. The Brewer will not need to covert the reading from Brix to specific gravity or do an adjustment for temperature.
The Portable Refractometer is a high quality unit which is extremely accurate. The unit is easy to use, focus and calibrate. Calibration is simply done with a few drops of distilled water.
The Portable Refractometer comes with ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) allowing you to use the unit between 10°C – 30°C, so the temperature of the sample is irrelevant.
The Portable Refractometer uses ambient light only which means battery or power source is not required.
Unlike using a hydrometer, the Portable Refractometer only requires a very small sample ± 2 - 3 drops.
