The Glycol Portable Refractometer is used to measure the concentration of Ethylene Glycol or Propylene Glycol in antifreeze liquids and battery fluids.
This Glycol Refractometer is used to determine the freeze points of Propylene Glycol and Ethylene Glycol fluid solutions. The readings are in degrees Celsius.
As Ethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol are often mixed at many different dilution ratios, the solution concentration is directly related to it's freeze point. Failure to properly monitor the freeze point, will initially lead to product slushing and ultimately bulk freezing leading to damaged pipe work and loss of product. The product life of the Ethylene and Propylene Glycol is good and often purchasing more concentrated product, will save money and eliminate replacing the entire solution.
The Portable Refractometer is a high quality unit which is extremely accurate. The unit is easy to use, focus and calibrate. Calibration is simply done with a few drops of distilled water.
The Portable Refractometer comes with ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) allowing you to use the unit between 10°C – 30°C, so the temperature of the sample is irrelevant.
The Portable Refractometer uses ambient light only which means battery or power source is not required.
