The Honey Portable Refractometer has been designed to work with sugar related liquids such as honey, jelly, jam and syrup. It is used to measure the density of sugars in a solution to help control sugar concentration in foods and beverages.
The Honey Portable Refractometer can also be used to check the ripeness of fruit in the filed. This can verify product quality after harvesting and/or controlling concentrations during processing and packaging.

The unit is easy to use, focus and calibrate. Calibration is simply done with a few drops of distilled water.
The Portable Refractometer comes with ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) allowing you to use the unit between 10°C – 30°C, so the temperature of the sample is irrelevant.
The Portable Refractometer uses ambient light only which means battery or power source is not required.
Unlike using a hydrometer, the Portable Refractometer only requires a very small sample ± 2 - 3 drops.
